Updated!
Woohoo!
Ok, I didn't go fishing for
quite a while for various reasons. Nothing bad, just doing other
things. I have gone a few times starting right before
Thanksgiving. Check the Journal page
for those updates. It is good to go fishing again and I hope to
do a lot more this winter. To both of my readers, I promise to
update more regularly.
New Zealand Mud
Snail found in Nevada and the Sierras
The New Zealand Mud Snail
(NZMS) is
currently found in Salmon Falls Creek in northeastern
Nevada, the Owens River, Hot
Creek, Putah Creek and, most recently, the Mokelumne
River in California. This is serious stuff! The NZMS could have devastating
impacts to fisheries. Find out more about the NZMS and how to
help prevent the spread of this invasive species from the California
Department of Fish and Game, here,
Ralph Cutter's site, here,
or contact any NDOW office here in Nevada.
Don't let the NZMS invade your favorite water!
